Tsunamis wave modeling : Generation, Propagation and Inundation.

The numerical study of damped hydrodynamic surface wave propagation is a very challenging problem through the phenomena that they represent (giant waves, Tsunamis, …). These waves are modeled in deep water by the Boussinesq systems (in 2D) and in shallow water by the Saint-Venant systems (in 2D). These systems approximate the 3D Euler equations and consist of three coupled nonlinear dispersive wave equations that describe propagation of surface waves in ideal fluids over a static or a dynamic bottom. We will present here the whole life cycle of a Tsunami wave from generation till inundation.
