Free and bi-free cumulants

vendredi 28 novembre 2014, 9h30 - 10h30

Salle de réunion, espace Turing

I will discuss the (well-established) concept of free independence
for a family of noncommutative random variables, and the (rather
recent) concept of bi-free independence for such a family. The
emphasis will be on how these types of noncommutative independence
can be studied combinatorially, in terms of cumulant functionals
which are introduced via summations on appropriate collections
of diagrams.
