Hybrid models in biology and medicine

vendredi 4 mars 2011, 11h00 - 12h00

Salle de réunion, espace Turing

Hybrid discrete-continuous models is a new class of models emerging last several years under the infleunce of biological applications. They bring together continuous models, ordinary and partial differential equations, and multi-agent or cellular automata models. They open a big field of interdisciplinary research. We will discuss some of related questions in the context of biological and medical applications: normal and leukemic hematopoiesis, blood flows and atherosclerosis, morphogenesis and plant growth.
