Mathematical models of self-organization

vendredi 29 mars 2019, 11h00 - 12h00

Salle du conseil, espace Turing

Self-organization happens when agents interacting through local rules generate large-scale coherent structures. It occurs across all living and social systems and through a formidable variety of mechanisms. However, common features among the different systems suggest that some ‘universal’ models may provide valuable insight. In this talk, we will discuss models of aligment dynamics of self-propelled particles and highlight the mathematical challenges that they pose.
