This talk presents a formal derivation of the Euler–Vlasov model for thick sprays, starting from the coupled Enskog–Boltzmann kinetic system for gas–particle mixtures. In the thick spray regime, where particle volume fractions are no longer negligible, finite-size effects influents both the gas pressure and the drag acting on particles. The main contributions are: (i) a mesoscopic level explanation of how finite-volume effects lead to a modification of the pressure term, and (ii) a corrected expression for the friction force that incorporates higher-order contributions.
